Renewing Your Mind The Way You Think About Money

Renew your mind the way you think about money, by the transforming of your mind.

ROMANS 12:2 – And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may reprove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.

Many today are engulfed in too much debt. We have become a nation of want. When more isn’t enough, and we are not satisfied with the things we have. This ultimately leads us into financial bondage. We must renew our minds the way we think about money and instead build our foundation upon a rock. We must develop the right thinking about how we manage our money. This starts by the renewing of your mind on how you deal with money and to utilize money for the basic needs in life.

ISAIAH 55:2 Why do you spend money for that which is not for bread? And your labor for that which does not satisfy? Hearken diligently unto me, and eat that which is good, and let you soul delight itself in fatness.

Where is the man who is satisfied with his wealth, and who says it’s enough? There is a void in society’s heart because we fail to realize the value of money. We’ve taken it for granted. We spend more than what we have, we have become a nation of want and greed has run rampant. We are nation spiraling downward into a bankruptcy. What a striking description of the condition of the world today. The world’s idea is that people are endeavoring “purchase happy” and yet we are never satisfied. Black Friday comes to mind!

Given the vast state of economy and our own financial woes, we must now transform our minds the way we think about money and become frugal. Moreover, we must learn to build our foundation upon a rock and not be conformed to the world’s desires to buy those things that do not benefit us, as it will not fill the void.

Clearly our world today falls short of our expectations, we promise ourselves, the financial economy and our own personal crisis will eventually get better. However, we need to get on our knees and ask forgiveness from God to transform our minds the way we think about money. Remember, God is not going to give us a free lunch in this process. You must be willing to do your part, before God considers yours. The Bible clearly tells us that with the measure we use, it will be measured back to us. In other words, if we want God’s best, then we have to give him our best when it comes to the transformation process.

The transformation process is not done overnight. This is a process that will occur over the rest of your earthly life. If you’re willing to work with the Lord in this process, God will then gradually and progressively transform and sanctify you on how to use and spend money wisely.

TIMOTHY 1 For the love of money is the root of all evil.

PROVERBS: It is better to have little money with righteousness than much injustice.

Lastly, be sober about money, keep it in perspective.
